Jenny Berlin solves her ninth case

Nils Steenberg (Janek Rieke), the offspring of a renowned Hamburg law firm, is under a lot of pressure. According to his deceased uncle’s will, the unsuccessful law student will only inherit his estate if he passes the second state law exam. Nils, however, suffers from hellish exam anxiety. His brother Morton (Matthias Koeberlin) therefore offers him an unusual role reversal: He takes the exam for Nils. Meanwhile, Nils loses his nerve at the wheel of his car, hits a pedestrian and commits a hit-and-run. The pedestrian dies.

Jenny (Aglaia Szyszkowitz) and her colleagues Brehm (Rainer Strecker) and Wolfer (Hannes Hellmann) are initially in the dark. Is there a deliberate act of revenge behind the hit-and-run, or was Janda just in the wrong place at the wrong time by chance?
