Love, babies and a new beginning (8)

Midwife Antonia (Marion Kracht) and her husband Dr. Thomas Hellmann (Michael Roll) have just moved with their son Nahas (Luka Kumi). The entire organization for renovation and relocation has been hanging solely on Antonia for weeks. As so often in recent times, the couple get into arguments because the busy head doctor simply doesn’t have an ear for his wife. But it’s not just the house that’s in trouble, things are also going haywire at the “Klinik am See”: The head midwife Vroni (Christiane Blumhoff) drops out because she breaks her arm, and shortly afterwards her husband Karl (Werner Haindl) has a cast on his leg. Antonia, Thomas, colleague and midwife Helena (Julia Bremermann) and senior physician Dr. Leitner (Markus Böker) have their hands full trying to keep the two injured unlucky people happy.

In addition, the birth of a baby with a ruptured umbilicus and the subsequent blood draw cause particular excitement in the clinic. The Hellmann couple’s private chaos is finally perfect when Helena discovers that her new flirt Jörn Richter (Joachim Raaf) also scores points with her best friend with his easy-going and social manner: Antonia is on fire for Jörn’s plans to found a school for the deaf in Bad Wiessee near Schönbach; she can even communicate with him in sign language. The fact that Antonia and Jörn seem to forget everything around them does not go unnoticed by Thomas. He is seriously worried about his marriage.

Filming of “Love, Babies and a New Beginning” is scheduled to run from June 8 to July 8, 2011. Filming will take place in Munich and at Lake Tegernsee. The leading roles will again be played by Marion Kracht as midwife Antonia Hellmann and Michael Roll as her husband, head physician Dr. Thomas Hellmann of the “Klinik am See”. Ulrike Hamacher is once again directing. Bettina Börgerding and Iris Uhlenbruch wrote the script for the eighth film in the series “Love, Babies and…”. The last episode to air, “Liebe, Babys und ein Herzenswunsch,” on May 8, 2011, was watched by 4.43 million viewers (market share 14.0 percent).
