The body of Gerrit Suiker is found in Amsterdam’s red light district. He was last seen by the prostitute Sherry (Christina Hecke), who remains silent to the police, but at night tells the man on the radio that she had witnessed the murder. Truth or lie? Bruno van Leeuwen is faced with a mystery. And it becomes even bigger when he tries to notify the wife of the deceased. He finds her not at home, but in the hospital – as an out-of-treatment patient who wants to die. Her husband had tried to prevent that. Now he is dead and she is still alive. Could the attending neurologist Dr. van der Meer (Christian Berkel) have something to do with Suiker’s death? After all, he is an avowed advocate of euthanasia. And how is the voice on the radio connected to the case, this man who lends his ear to Amsterdam at night? Bruno van Leeuwen asks these questions not only of himself, but also of psychologist Feline Menardi (Katja Riemann), to whom he is sent because he can no longer stand it at home since the death of his wife, but drifts through the city at night – like Gerrit Suiker.
