Matti Geschonneck is one of the most decorated directors in our country. “Abducted” is his first two-parter. For his films “Silberhochzeit” (Silver Wedding) with Iris Berben and “Die Nachrichten” (The News) with Jan Josef Liefers, among others, he received both the German and the Bavarian Television Awards. For “Mord am Meer” he was awarded, among others, the Television Prize of the German Academy of Performing Arts, the Bavarian Television Prize, the Adolf Grimme Prize, the Hamburg Television Film Prize and the “World Medal” of the New York Television Festival. His film “Duell in der Nacht,” starring Iris Berben and Jürgen Vogel, was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Award and in 3 categories for the German Television Award. 6.61 million viewers watched it when it was first broadcast on ZDF.
