The young New York publishing assistant Flora Stanza (Julia Hartmann) is blindsided when she learns that her mother Liz (Ursela Monn) has been ill for a long time and now needs help. How could she not know about this? And how is she supposed to finance her mother’s care? She can’t expect support from her brother Henry (René Ifrah), who has a wife and children of his own. The only way out seems to be the auction house “Stanza Auction Company”, in which she inherited shares after the death of her father. But her hopes are dashed when she learns from partner Charles Morgan (Johannes Zirner) that the traditional house is on the verge of bankruptcy. If Flora wants to be paid off, it must first be made profitable again. Side by side with Charles, for whom she soon develops feelings, Flora throws herself into the work and fights for the order of the prominent heiress Daisy Shark (Dennenesch Zoudé), who wants to auction off her father’s valuable collection. Daisy, however, makes it clear to her that she is only willing to make a deal if the path to Charles is also clear for her. Flora is torn between her heart and her mind: should she fight for her love for Charles or to save the auction house, on which her mother’s future above all depends?
