Start of the year on ZDF: New case for Heino Ferch and Barbara Auer in Nordholm – from the makers of “Tod eines Mädchens”.
Simon Kessler (Heino Ferch) and Hella Christensen (Barbara Auer) investigate for the third time in Nordholm: After “Death of a Girl” (2015) and “The Missing Family” (2019), ZDF will show the two-part “The Girl on the Beach” on January 6 and January 8, 2020.
Once again, the small town of Nordholm is shaken to its foundations by a crime. During a high school graduation party on the beach, student Jule Reinhardt (Tijan Marei) disappears. The next morning, her body is found on the cliffs. Simon Kessler of the Hamburg homicide squad takes over the investigation, because he suspects a connection between the death of Jule Reinhardt and a girl who was killed in Hamburg. The two were apparently friends. Kessler and the LKA investigators interrogate Jule’s classmates and eventually connect the teacher Dirk Eilers (André Szymanski) to both murders. The real estate agent and former employer of Jules’ mother, Klaus Steinkamp (Axel Milberg), also comes into question as the perpetrator.
Hella Christensen, Kessler’s former colleague who has since resigned from the police force, investigates on her own. She fears that her son Sven (Nick Julius Schuck) could be involved in the murder. Simon Kessler finally agrees to officially involve Hella Christensen in the case, and together the two uncover something incredible.
Other roles are played by Rainer Bock, Natalia Wörner, Sophie von Kessel, Lena Klenke, Oskar Belton, Bruno Alexander, Axel Milberg, Thomas Hanzon, Katharina Schlothauer, Rainer Strecker, Hermann Beyer, Martin Lindow, Gustav Peter Wöhler, Max Landgrebe, Marek Erhardt and others. Thomas Berger is once again directing his own script. It is produced by Network Movie Hamburg, the producers are Jutta Lieck-Klenke and Dietrich Kluge. Daniel Blum is the ZDF editor in charge.
