Inspector Jana Winter under suspicion of murder
When Inspector Jana Winter (Natalia Wörner) takes her son Leo (Kian Schmidt) to school, she is threatened by Ricky Rehberg (Jan Georg Schütte), who has just been released from a long prison sentence. Rehberg swears revenge.
He insinuates that Jana is to blame for the death of his wife and daughter and threatens to harm their son Leo. Jana is provoked into saying that if anything happens to her son, she will kill Rehberg.
When Rehberg calls Jana Winter the same evening and pretends that he has Leo in his power, the inspector drives to his apartment in a panic. There, however, things take an unexpected turn. Rehberg is dead. He has been shot. The bullet came from Jana’s service weapon. Jana Winter herself is suspected of murder.
Colleagues Brauner (Martin Brambach) and Hamm (Ralph Herforth) have their hands tied. Internal investigators Harald Voss (Johannes Zeiler) and Cornelius Brettschneider (Johannes Zirner) take over the case. The circumstantial evidence is corroborated. Jana suspects the imprisoned criminal Anton Gluseck (Felix v. Manteuffel) is behind the plot, but Gluseck denies the accusations and later even helps Jana escape from custody.
Meanwhile, events come to a head: investigator Voss is murdered. There are increasing indications that the murderer is to be sought within the company’s own ranks. Jana Winter goes into hiding and will have to solve the case with the help of Hamm and Brauner, also to prove her own innocence.
