Student Carla (Stefanie Stappenbeck) is worried about her sex life: she is 23 years old and still a virgin. That’s why she decides to throw her dreams of true love overboard and work as a chambermaid in a hotel on Amrum. There she wants to seduce one of the hotel guests to finally feel like a “whole woman”. Her choice falls on the gynecologist Dr. Andreas Pietras (Axel Milberg), who is attending a gynecologists’ conference at the hotel with his colleague Dr. Wüllner (Rudolf Kowalski). Carla pulls out all the stops to get this man interested in her.
“Das Zimmermädchen” is a feel-good movie, after which you are tempted to throw your cell phone into the sea and rent a beach chair on Amrum for the next six months. Even though shooting was repeatedly brought to a standstill by stormy lows, director Matthias Tiefenbacher managed to give this summer comedy the necessary depth and lightness at the same time. The screenplay by Marcus Hertneck was based on the novel of the same name by author Annegret Held. The “TV Movie of the Week” was produced by Network Movie, Hamburg. Producer: Carsten Kelber. Daniel Blum is the ZDF editor.
