A dead woman is found on the edge of the cliffs – Elisabeth Nygren, whom no one wants to have known and yet who has caused a sensation by her appearance. Robert Anders must investigate to reconstruct what her life with 12-year-old daughter Fippa may have been like. Not registered in any town, not noted in any office, the two lived isolated from all outside influences – in detached Swedish cottages in winter, in Spanish villages in summer. Fippa does not seem to have seen a school for years. And now she has disappeared! Has she also fallen victim to a violent crime? Robert investigates under high pressure.
Thefts and burglaries are reported on the island – surveillance cameras clearly identify Fippa. The good news: the girl is alive! But Robert has no idea: Villa Kunterbunt, of all places, becomes her emergency shelter! Suddenly, a strange man stands in front of the girl’s bed and threatens her. But Fippa’s bag of tricks is colorful – she reports him anonymously. Small farmer Waldemar Adolfson is no stranger to the detectives Robert and Thomas, and the interrogations with him provide the next clues. Fippa continues to be unpredictable – she seems to have a dangerous mission, possibly to avenge her mother’s murderer!
A man named Tobias Hofelt, who claims to have known the dead woman – Fippa’s mother – moves into Fippa’s sights. Is he the culprit? Of all people, Lena’s husband, who can hardly wait until she can hold the adopted child assigned to her in her arms?
But before that question can be answered, a second woman is murdered and thrown off the cliff. When Robert stumbles upon the connection between the two women, everything becomes clear to him. Fippa is in grave danger! He sets out to save her …
