Berlin at the beginning of the nineties: Treuhand boss Hans-Georg Dahlmann (Ulrich Tukur) makes many enemies with his task of transferring the state-owned enterprises of the defunct GDR into the private sector. His newly hired assistant Sandra Wellmann (Petra Schmidt-Schaller) is also one of them. She has been infiltrated by the RAF (Jenny Schily as Bettina Polheim and Christoph Bach as Klaus Gelfert) to spy on Dahlmann. But the murder of the head of the German Vereinsbank Albert Wegner (Richard Sammel) draws the attention of the Federal Criminal Police Office (Maximilian Brückner as lead investigator Andreas Kawert) to possible other victims. As Wellmann and Dahlmann come to trust each other, the terrorist’s mission changes…. The uncertainties and smoldering violence in a society in transition are shown in this two-parter produced by Network Movie, Jutta Lieck-Klenke, on behalf of ZDF.
FILMFEST MÜNCHEN presented both parts in succession on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 5:00 pm in a three-hour screening.
