“The Albertis” shows life as it is and as each of us knows it – just not perfect.
Anne Alberti (Katharina Abt) actually leads a perfect family life. Actually: When Paul Ross (Samuel Weiss), her husband’s best friend, confesses his love for her, the two give in to their feelings against all reason. When it comes to great love, it’s often a case of “back to zero”: two families become one, daring to make a new start and facing their future with a zest for life.
At a time when conventional family structures are being lived less and less, but are increasingly being replaced by modern elective relationships, Christian Pfannenschmidt sketches the story of a modern and now everyday phenomenon of our time: the patchwork family.
Based on Christian Pfannenschmidt’s book, Matthias Tiefenbacher directed the two 90-minute TV films and five of the subsequent 13 episodes (13 x 45 min.). Commissioned by ZDF, Network Movie, Hamburg produced in cooperation with Kromschröder & Pfannenschmidt, Hamburg (episode 2 – 13). The responsible editors at ZDF are Dr. Claus Beling and Christof Königstein.
