Jan and Maria live happily with their daughter in a small village in Thuringia. When Maria’s job as a cook in the village pub is terminated and she receives a tempting offer to work in an elegant hotel in Berlin, their lives change abruptly: from now on, the two have to lead a “weekend relationship” against their will and experience distance, loneliness and the temptations of the new everyday life.
