A woman’s body is found on the Lower Rhine. Circumstantial evidence points to a past series of murders and prompts LKA department head Mattheissen to bring Helen Dorn back to his team as lead investigator. During the difficult investigation, Dorn and Georgi come across old and new suspects and secrets among their own colleagues.
Anna Loos takes on the role of LKA detective Helen Dorn, who will be investigating in North Rhine-Westphalia in the future. With “Helen Dorn,” director Matti Geschonneck and writer Magnus Vattrodt continue their collaboration. Their joint TV film “Das Ende einer Nacht” won awards including the Adolf Grimme Prize, the German Television Award and the Golden Camera.
At Anna Loos’ side, Matthias Matschke plays chief detective Gregor Georgi. Other continuous roles are played by Stephan Bissmeier as LKA department head Falk Mattheissen, Bettina Lamprecht as Georgi’s wife and Ernst Stötzner as Helen Dorn’s father. Among others, Jörg Schüttauf, Harald Schrott and Volkmar Kleinert appear in episode lead roles in the first film in front of Theo Bierkens’ camera.
“Helen Dorn” is produced by Network Movie Cologne (producers Wolfgang Cimera and Silke Schulze-Erdel), with Reinhold Elschot and Stefanie von Heydwolff editing on ZDF.
