Lynne (Ursula Buschhorn) and Howard Harper (René Ifrah) are about to realize their dream of a six-month sailing trip to the Caribbean. Suddenly, however, there are irritations, and the trip threatens to fall through.
Lynne’s extravagant sister Ann-Margret (Leslie Malton) stands by as house sitter, and for the kayak school Robert (Daniel Aichinger) is on hand as a competent substitute. As Lynne must increasingly wonder about Howard: He avoids her, constantly has urgent things to do, and there’s a lull in bed.
When Howard leaves for New York for a business meeting shortly before the trip, he forgets his cell phone. A young woman calls several times. For Ann-Margret, privacy is a foreign word, and she advises her sister to take a closer look. Lynne discovers suspicious debits on Howard’s account for an apartment in New York. The sisters are sure: He must be having an affair! Without further ado, Lynne packs her bags and sneaks into the life of the very young Samantha (Jasmin Lord) as a supposed roommate. She is determined to outdo her husband’s mistress. But that’s not all, Howard seems to have other secrets: The joint travel fund is completely plundered, and the dream of sailing happiness is over. Lynne puts her money where her mouth is and, without Howard’s knowledge, sells the sailboat the next day to the local shipyard owner (Felix von Manteuffel), to whom they still owe a bill. When Howard returns from New York, only one can help him to be heard by his wife once again and finally break his silence: The unconventional Ann-Margret …
