Love, babies and a piece of home

When the Hellmanns return from their winter vacation, a surprise awaits them at home: a baby has been left outside their house in the freezing cold. Antonia immediately takes the tiny girl to her heart and shortly thereafter single-handedly applies to the Youth Welfare Office for guardianship of the baby – much to the annoyance of Thomas, who assumes that the birth mother will reappear and that Antonia might develop too strong a bond with the infant in the meantime. When Idowu unexpectedly arrives from Namibia, she comes at the right time for Antonia as a substitute in the clinic: This way she can exclusively take care of the foundling, whom she has named Lucy in the meantime. It doesn’t take long for competition to break out in the hospital between Idowu and the head midwife Vroni. And when Antonia and Thomas’ adopted son Nahas has to be brought home because of a skiing accident, the Hellmann house is turned upside down …

Directed by Ulrike Hamacher, the screenplay was written by Iris Kobler. The ZDF Sunday movie series, which has been broadcast since October 2006, is produced by Network Movie Film- und Fernsehproduktion GmbH & Co. KG. The producers are Silke Pützer and Wolfgang Cimera. The editorial office at ZDF is in the hands of Rita Nasser. A broadcast date has not yet been set.
