During the opening of the summer season, two women are brutally murdered on Gotland. Inspector Anders (Walter Sittler) realizes that he is dealing with a serial killer and that the cases can only be solved once he has seen through the relationship between the two victims.

Set against the charming backdrop of the Swedish vacation island of Gotland, Walter Sittler plays Inspector Robert Anders, who hails from Germany and is happily married to midwife Line (Paprika Steen). The crime series “Der Kommissar und das Meer” (“The Inspector and the Sea”), based on novels by bestselling Swedish author Mari Jungstedt, began with two 90-minute episodes broadcast a week apart.
