13th case for Natalia Wörner, Martin Brambach and Ralph Herforth in Schleswig. What begins as a routine traffic check turns out to be a dramatic family tragedy with connections to Denmark.

Vehicle check on a country road outside Schleswig. A car with two passengers swerves, accelerates, runs over a policeman and speeds away. A dead man without papers is discovered in the vehicle, which is later found – there is no trace of the passenger.

A clue to the man’s identity leads Inspector Jana Winter (Natalia Wörner) to her Danish colleague Malte (Magnus Krepper) in Copenhagen.

The dead man’s name is Karsten Rogge (Andreas Pietschmann), he comes from Schleswig and is married to the Danish shipowner Pernille Rogge (Lia Boysen). From her, Jana learns that her husband was manically depressed. All was not well with the marriage.

The only contact Karsten still had in Schleswig was with his student friends Axel (Sebastian Weber) and Anna Gerstätter (Regula Grauwiller).

Meanwhile, the investigations of commissioners Matthias Hamm (Ralph Herforth) and Arne Brauner (Martin Brambach) reveal that Axel Gerstätter must have been at the crime scene. Did he kill Karsten out of jealousy because his wife Anna had an affair with their old friend? Is Anna the missing passenger?

The case takes a surprising turn when Jana Winter finds out that it wasn’t Anna who was in the car, but their 15-year-old daughter Caro (Emma Drogunova), with whom Karsten apparently wanted to start a new life…
