The Stralsund criminal investigation department has a new boss: Gregor Meyer (Michael Rotschopf), who previously worked for years in the internal investigations department. Colleagues Karl Hidde (Alexander Held) and Benjamin Lietz (Wotan Wilke Möhring) therefore eye the new guy suspiciously – in contrast to Nina Petersen (Katharina Wackernagel), who is not worried about it. During a joint operation, the investigators are confronted with a very special problem: Two masked men have attacked an armored car and killed one of the security guards. His colleague was able to hide inside the armored vehicle. Using an old radio, she manages to make contact with the police. But she can’t give any information about their coordinates. She can only relay what she hears. And so the police officers try to find out which route the van is taking based on acoustic signals and descriptions.
“Stralsund – Out of Control” is the second case for Katharina Wackernagel as Stralsund police inspector Nina Petersen: “Stralsund – Murderous Pursuit” was broadcast on ZDF on March 30, 2009, and was seen by 5.61 million viewers (market share 20.0 percent).
Other roles are played by Alexander Held, Wotan Wilke Möhring, Michael Rotschopf, Max Hopp, Justus von Dohnányi and others. The film is directed – as in “Stralsund – Mörderische Verfolgung” – by Martin Eigler, who also wrote the screenplay again together with Sven Poser.
“Stralsund – Out of Control” is a production of Network Movie Film- und Fernsehproduktion GmbH & Co. KG, Cologne, Wolfgang Cimera. Martin R. Neumann is the editor at ZDF.
