Chief Inspector Clüver has to deal with the blackmail of a really weighty opponent. Wilfried König is a wealthy entrepreneur, art collector and mayor of the municipality of Sylt.
But König has a huge problem: when he comes home in the evening from a municipal council meeting, he finds his personal trainer Samy Adiaffi dead in the bedroom of his villa. But König doesn’t need the police at all right now.
When it comes out that his fitness trainer was also his lover, his reputation, career and marriage are ruined. König’s friend, Gunnar Graber, is persuaded by him to make the body disappear into the North Sea in a night and fog operation. When photos of König, Graber and the fitness trainer’s corpse turn up, the two come under heavy pressure: König is blackmailed into handing over a painting worth millions – otherwise the photos would go to the police. But Chief Inspector Theo Clüver, who interestingly enough had a relationship with König’s wife Brigitta before her marriage to Wilfried, and his colleagues Hinnerk and Ina have been investigating for a long time to get to the bottom of the mystery. Did Adiaffi have other affairs on the island? What role does the windy detective Landwehr play?
